Global Health & Health Policy (GHHP) students and Cordeiro Fellows Ashri Anurudran and Esmé Trahair were awarded the prestigious Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize for their senior theses. Both women had spent their junior summer conducting research funded by the Cordeiro Fellowship, one of two fellowships open to GHHP Secondary Field students. Earlier this month, Esmé and Ashri presented the findings of their research to their peers and to members of the Cordeiro family.

Ashri’s economics thesis entitled “Empower to Eliminate: A Randomized Evaluation of a Sexual Violence Prevention Program in Kisumu, Kenya” was nominated by Dr. Kiran Gajwani. Esmé’s anthropology thesis entitled “The Sons of All Australia: Masculinities, Mental Health, and the ‘Aussie Bloke’” was nominated by Professor Arthur Kleinman.
