Defeating Malaria Undergraduate Colloquium

Date:

Thursday, April 7, 2016 (All day)

Location:

Harvard Faculty Club

In Spring 2016, Harvard University’s Defeating Malaria: From the Genes to the Globe Initiative will offer a multidisciplinary Undergraduate Colloquium on malaria. Examining an ancient global health problem from a continuum of disciplines and perspectives - all the way from the genes to the globe - enables students to develop an analysis of the economic, political, cultural, biological, and historical factors that shape malaria and human responses to it.

The Undergraduate Colloquium is hosted in an intimate setting at the Harvard Faculty Club over three dinner sessions on April 7, 14, and 21. Led by notable Harvard faculty members, the colloquium will explore questions such as

  • How does malaria impact economic growth?
  • How do scientific discoveries inform public policy?
  • How does climate change affect efforts to eradicate malaria?
  • What do big companies know that Ministries of Health need to learn?
