Invited to present MGH work on understanding how individuals experiencing homelessness who also use drugs to make decisions around engaging with HIV prevention strategies.

"Attending NCRC was an amazing experience! It was a great chance to talk to other students and practice sharing my research findings in a way that is understandable to people who might not have as much experience with public research. Ultimately, I think this was a great experience that will hopefully prepare me to deliver more talks at future conferences!"

Invited to present research investigating the facilitators and the barriers to HIV prevention tools among people who are experiencing homelessness who use drugs.

"My research project highlights the main findings of the work that Dr. Fine and I have conducted this year. Specifically, we investigated the facilitators and the barriers to HIV prevention tools (condoms, clean needles, PrEP, HIV self-test kits) among people who are experiencing homelessness who use drugs. Here, we found that while accessibility is a major factor that affects how often and confidently people use these tools, other interpersonal factors such as one’s own perceived risk of HIV transmission, stigma from peers, and trust in providers. These findings highlighted interesting points for future interventions, and it was misleadingly difficult communicating these with professionals from different fields as many people did understand the complexities of establishing a standardized form of care, especially for such a vulnerable and volatile population such as those experiencing homelessness. In the future, I will make sure to practice with those I am close with yet don’t have the exact background I have so that I can proactively anticipate any difficulties in my ability to communicate complex topics."
