This summer, Gloria is interning with the World Health Organization (WHO) Internship Program. The WHO is a specialized agency of the United Nations concerned with international public health. As the leader in global public health issues, the WHO is committed to building future leaders in public health, and their internship program gives students the opportunity to gain insight in the technical and administrative programs of WHO. Gloria is interning with Marie Noel Brune Drisse, who specializes in children’s environmental health and whose work assesses major global environmental health risks, available WHO and health sector tools, and proposes strategies towards addressing those issues. Gloria’s responsibilities include updating training materials on children’s environmental health for doctors and nurses as well as assisting with the 2016 edition of the WHO’s Children’s Environmental Health Atlas.
