This summer, I am interning in Gavi's Monitoring and Evaluation team. Gavi's a public-private partnership that supports immunization initiatives (routine & campaign) in low-income countries. My main project was to create a monitoring framework for gender-related barriers to immunization (i.e. education, economic, accessibility, etc.). In the process of creating a final draft of the framework, I reviewed country Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) proposals, budgets, grant performance frameworks, coverage & equity assessments, and joint appraisals to better understand how countries consider gender-related barriers in their vaccine interventions.
