This summer I am working on aim three of a clinical trial focused on the HIV Care Continuum at YRG Care an HIV clinic in Chennai, India. This stage of the trial involves enhanced therapy sessions with YRG counselors focused on the implementation of a psychological program meant to improve medication adherence know as Life Steps. It also includes the setup of an SMS messaging system of messages created by patients in their counseling sessions to provide increased motivation for medical adherence. When not working on the trial, I spend time shadowing the other doctors in the clinic on their rounds and learning about the types and effects of HIV in this region of India.
