This summer, via the Harvard Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), I am interning with the AIDS Action Committee (AAC) - the public health sector of Fenway Health. The AAC works to combat the ongoing HIV/AIDS epidemic by providing various health and social services and by undertaking many policy and advocacy initiatives. In my time at the AAC, I have specifically worked with the Getting to Zero Coalition (GtZ), a plan to "to revitalize and redefine the HIV/AIDS agenda for advocates in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts." For the GtZ, I provided logistical and research support on the Activist Academy - an initiative to arm individuals in communities across Massachusetts with the tools needed to launch a project related to current HIV, Hepatitis C, opioid use and LGBT equity related legislation in MA.
