I am interning with Sangath, an NGO in Goa that specializes in addressing mental health concerns around India. This summer I have been involved in the addictions research group in a variety of projects. For the domestic violence project, I am partaking in the data extraction process for the intervention development as well as developing informational material given to the woman. Additionally, I have further engaged quantitative research by coding interviews for AMBIT, an alcohol intervention and helping with the systematic review for To Quit, a tobacco cessation intervention. Through Sangath I have also helped create a mental health awareness video series, write a research proposal for a mental health survey for Tibetan refugee communities in India, and spearhead a crowdfunding campaign for Chetana, a low resource clinic that trains laypersons to provide free counseling for individuals in Canacona
