This summer I have had the great privilege of interning at the NIH bioethics department! I am working on a qualitative project, exploring the role of clinical trials in the West African Ebola epidemic. Specifically, my research project is situated around the following question: how should humanitarian principles shape the conduct of health research during public health emergencies? Thus far, I have listened to interviews conducted by my mentor and have now begun to qualitatively code the interviews with NVivo and analyze the results.
