I am doing research at the University of Global Health Equity this summer where I am working on evaluating the financial viability of the health post model in Rwanda. Health posts are apart of the Rwanda health system designed in response to financial and geographical barriers limiting the delivery of primary health care services in rural areas. My research focuses on health posts, established through the public-private partnership model, that have closed down or relocated because they have failed to sustain the current business model set by the ministry of health in partnership with One Family Health. Ideally, this research will serve as a policy recommendation to the government of Rwanda to subsidize health posts that do not have enough traffic to maintain their business model if they want to support their one health post per Cell goal.
