As organisations, we share out more than £100 billion in funds and hold organisations to account for spending this money effectively for patients and efficiently for the tax payer. We also directly commission certain services such as primary care and ‘specialised services’, such as treatments for rare conditions and secure mental health care, on a regional or national basis.

We work closely with central government including the Department of Health and Social Care, Department for Work and Pensions, the Office for Life Sciences and others.
